Banksy Out Here Playing Chess
Over the last few years, I’ve found my Self appreciating art. have I’ve even begun collecting art and even commissioned some pieces from friends of mine.
Earlier this month, one of the most famous (maybe infamous to some) artists in the world, Banksy, blessed the world with a new piece of art. The mural was painted on the side of the Queen’s Building in the Royal Courts of Justice complex in London. The image, an obvious political statement by Banksy, showed a protester lying on the ground shielding himself from a judge striking down on him, already having drawn blood.
Knowing that government officials would not well receive this strong statement, Banksy used some material (this is speculation on my part) that would not only ensure the image would remain but that the remnants would deliver an even stronger message.
I’m not so sure that the intention of the mural was the final image and the message it delivered—not only did it show the message of the protestor, but it also delivered a message on censorship.
Banksy was playing chess, while everyone else was playing checkers, and I appreciate the thought and planning that went into it all.
Keep pursuing,
