The Clipse Letting God Sort Em Out
I’ll never forget when my friend, Chaz Vaughn, introduced me to “Grindin” by this new group called The Clipse. He was visiting another high school friend of ours down at my college, Franklin College, and we were watching him play baseball when he put me on.
Since I first heard that song, I’ve been a huge Clipse fan, and when Malice decided to step away from rap, my fandom continued with Pusha-T as went on his solo run.
Next month, The Clipse drop their first album since 2009 and I can’t wait.
Malice and Pusha sat down with The New York Times podcast Popcast, and of course, I’ve already watched and listened to it.
In this interview, pay attention to how Malice describes knowing why he had to step away from rap, what Malice says he is attached to, the importance of authenticity in the artists that Pusha likes, why Pusha bought his independence, and other stories that align with living their authentic lives.
I also loved hearing about the intention behind the songs and how they were arranged on the new album.
The principles of living an authentic life are always present, and this interview with The Clipse is filled with them.
Keep pursuing,
