No More Monkeys Jumping On the bed

Many of us have an important message to share with the world, and in today’s environment leveraging social media has become the go-to way to distribute what we have to say.

What we forget though is that while social media platforms can help us grow our reach, at the end of the day, we are really creating to grow the platform.

When I heard Jon Bellion share this with Zane Lowe I immediately got excited; I’ve been privately talking to my coach and friends about how I’d love to build off the social media platforms, but I don’t feel I have enough reach to make it work, so I keep playing the game.

I recorded this clip for me—as a reminder to keep pursuing toward building in a way that I can control my reach and impact with those who like what I have to say and share.

The platforms will probably always be a part of the strategy, but instead of it being the most important part, it will eventually become something I (and we) can do without.

We should all be looking at how we can no longer be the monkeys performing for the platform’s benefit.

Keep pursuing,

JC
