neurographica
There’s a good chance that you’ve never heard of Neurographica.
Until about a year ago, I hadn’t either—I was introduced to it by a friend of mine’s wife who had been studying the practice.
I’ll save the long explanation of what it is and summarize it as art meets mindfulness meets neuroscience; it can also be seen as a meditative practice through art that allows you to access your subconscious. You can learn all of the details from the founder, Pavel Piskarev.
I came to my first Neurographica appointment this afternoon fully stocked with all of the recommended materials—you definitely don’t need everything that I purchased, but I was hoping this exercise would spark my desire to dabble in art a little more. I left the exercise knowing that I will be doing more of this work, either alone or with my guide, shoutout to Narine, for today when I’m really needing to find some answers.
Before we started into the art, Narine asked me if there was anything in particular that I wanted to work through—not from a therapy standpoint, but projects or ideas I was seeking a greater understanding of.
I shared a few ideas, but ultimately settled on the forming of the AlignedLife Community. Of all the ideas, this was the most pressing as we prepare to welcome Founding Members in October.
Once the topic was set, I had to define what I was seeking—what would make the session a success.
Clarity.
It’s safe to say clarity was found. So was confirmation. So was affirmation for a few silent concerns—concerns I would never say out loud because I didn’t want to bring them to reality.
I walked away from my session with this beautiful piece of art that is not yet complete, as I still have more shading to do.
It might just look like some squiggly lines and a few circles, but by creating this, my guide helped me access my subconscious and find the clarity and answers I needed from within. Like the work I do with AlignedLife+, Neurographica is a tool to help you go within to find the answers you seek because it is within that all of the answers to your important questions are found.
Without going into too much detail—just enough for you to see the benefit of this work—there were four areas that came up for me to explore. There is a method for arriving at the areas to focus on in the work.
Ang
Impact
Foundation
Revolution
And here is what I left understanding about each:
Ang- The AlignedLife Community has multiple purposes when it comes to Ang. First, it is finally the opportunity I’ve also sought to work with her. I used to joke that if her store (a boys’ clothing boutique called Roman & Leo for those new here) could support our family, I’d sell my business and work with her at Roman & Leo.
Second, it is a transitional opportunity for her as she moves into a new chapter of her life—the post-store chapter. I know helping me with the community is not her next passion project, but it is a great opportunity until she discovers her next project.
Which brings me to the next point: the AlignedLife Community will be an important part of her finding what is next. We aren’t forming this community just to have another business—we’re forming it because we want it for our Selves. By being an active participant in the community, I know Ang will discover her next passion and how it will manifest.
Finally, while the AlignedLife Community is an important component of the Authentic Life ecosystem I’m building, what I will bring to the community will be a way for me to support Ang in her Pursuit of what is authentic to her now. I was a huge supporter, providing the nudge she needed to start Roman & Leo, and I hope the AlignedLife Community provides support and the next nudge, while helping her evolve with her Authentic Life on her own by encouraging her to look inward and trust what she feels.
I want to support Ang fully and this time around I know the best way I can support her, besides my love, is to help her through the community to evolve and discover what is next in her Authentic Life.
Impact- My initial thought about impact was what impact will I be able to make on the members of the community, what impact will they have on each other, and how will the community impact the world. I quickly realized that I didn’t need to spend much time on impact as I was reaffirmed of the impact I will have in helping more people live their Authentic Lives, that the right people will find the community and through love and support will make an impact on each other, and the most exciting understanding was that the AlignedLife Community is going to have a much greater impact on the world than I can comprehend.
I know, that sounds major. And it is. The more I have sat with it, the more I realize that with 150 individuals all pursuing and living their Authentic Lives, the elevation of consciousness within the collective, and the examples they will set in their communities, the community will contribute meaningfully to the elevation of the Collective Consciousness.
Put more simply, the energy of the AlignedLife Community will be contagious—both in the physical world and the metaphysical world.
Impact will be made in multiple ways.
Foundation- This ended up being the main focus of understanding for me. We have taken the community's planning very seriously—past versions of my Self would have already launched the community with minimal preparation. When Ang said she was on board to help me, I told her I wanted to take our time and be very intentional about designing and forming the community. This is why we aren’t opening the doors until October and are doing a Founding Members quarter before reopening the community to reach our 150-member cap.
The foundation will ensure the community attracts the right people and thrives.
When I think of the foundation of the AlignedLife Community, I think about the intention (the why), the platform we’ve chosen (Circle), the benefits, the programming, the desire for in-person events, the allocation of resources, the Founding Members, the desired experience, and the “Unreasonable Hospitality” moments.
There’s a lot that goes into the foundation, but I was reaffirmed that what we have in place and what we are currently building is exactly what we need to be doing.
The foundation is strong. We just need to execute in building it. And I left my session today knowing it is to be the primary focus in the short term.
Revolution- I’ve shared how my GeneKey revealed that I am to lead a revolution in my lifetime. That revolution is the Authentic Life, and the AlignedLife Community is a part of the revolution. Before you think I’ve lost it, this revolution is not going to try to overthrow governments or anything dramatic. But, it will be a movement to live differently than society has told us to—it’s a movement to live in alignment with our Authentic Selves and to live our Authentic Life.
Today’s session reaffirmed what my GeneKey said: that the AlignedLife Community is part of the revolution to help more people live their Authentic Lives.
All of that from drawing some lines, rounding out some edges, coloring, and shading.
Obviously, Narine had a lot to do with the depth of my understanding through the work, but yes, a couple of hours working on some art helped me become more convicted in the community, clear on the foundation, and confident that the support I need from the outside world will show up—calming the silent concern that it will be crickets when it is time for people to join. I know this won’t be the case, but it’s still a fear, and today’s session alleviated that fear.
I’ll be sure to share a picture of today’s drawing once I've finished all the shading and personalization
Who knew art could do all of this 🤷♂️.
Keep pursuing,
JC
