your inner world’s influence on your finances
If your inner world determines your outer world, then we can make the leap, believing that your inner world determines how you view money and your relationship with it.
If your inner world is filled with negative feelings, a lack of love, and is full of scarcity, then you probably view money as scarce, something you don’t deserve, and a constant source of stress.
On the other hand, if your inner world is filled with positive feelings, full of love, and seeing the abundance that surrounds you, then you probably view money as abundant, accessible, and a minor source of stress from time to time (or maybe not at all).
I can’t think of anyone I’ve come across in twenty years as a financial advisor, or the forty-three years of my life, who has an abundant financial life without control over their inner world.
I also can’t think of anyone who has a struggling financial life, despite the appearance of abundance to the outside world, with control over their inner world.
I’ve re-read those two sentences, and I don’t love how they come across–they might be confusing. What I’m trying to highlight is that it’s not the state of finances (outer world) that determines whether or not an individual is living in abundance or scarcity (inner world). It is the other way around. It’s the inner world that determines how an individual lives financially.
If you think about it, you already know this.
You might understand it from your personal experience.
You certainly understand it from observation–you don’t have to look far to find a “wealthy” or “rich” person who is miserable, unhappy, and still chasing more money. And I’m sure you can think of someone who would not be considered wealthy or rich by society, but is content, happy, and exudes love.
If you don’t feel like you have a healthy relationship with money, but you’ve worked with advisors, done the budgeting, and even have a financial plan, maybe it’s time to take a hard look at your Self and see what’s causing the scarcity, negativity, and other low vibrational energy that is impacting your relationship with money.
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
- 2 Corinthians 9:8
