don’t force what’s not there
How many relationships are you trying to force in your life?
Do you ever find your Self trying to create something that’s not there or hold on to something that has run its course?
For the most part, relationships shouldn’t be something you have to force or fight to hold on to; there will always be exceptions like marriages, romantic relationships, and sometimes business partnerships, but even with those, there comes a point where counseling and working on the relationship won’t save a relationship that has run its course.
If you take the time to look, you’ll find the people in your life whose relationships are so natural, aligned, and mutually supportive that you don’t have to put much effort into them–they just work.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I take those relationships for granted, and instead of pouring energy and attention into people who don’t return it, I should be pouring even more into those in my life who support me and want to be a part of my life; I’m blessed that I have too many people who do pour into me to not return that energy to them.
Lately, I’ve been intentional about surrendering and letting go of trying to force what’s not there and allowing those who don’t return the support and attention to continue to drift. I’ve been doing this with no ill will, no hard feelings, and from a place of love.
Letting go is never easy, especially when it is of people who have been important in your life or who you want to be important in your life.
But, we only have so much time, and instead of wasting energy on those who are no longer aligned with where we are going, we should pour our energy into those who are aligned and want to be alongside us.
Finding your tribe isn’t hard when you are honest with your Self about who is aligned with where you are and where you want to go.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
JC
