no timeline
The Authentic Life doesn’t operate on a timeline; at least not one you can control.
This is why we pursue our Authentic Life, continuing to evolve as we embody the current version of ou Authentic Life and move towards the future version we hold in our mind—yes, we should only be focused on the present Authentic Life and maybe I/we will get there as our consciousness expands and elevates, but it’s difficult not to think about where we want to be.
So listen to your heart and intuition.
Follow it.
Continue to evolve.
And you will be exactly where you are supposed to be when you are supposed to be there; you might even end up somewhere you never could have imagined in the present moment because of what has yet to unfold.
I’ll share a personal example of a future Authentic Life I’m pursuing that I’ve relinquished the idea of a timeline and almost the destination I hold in my mind…
80% creating, 20% doing the work in my professional life.
There is a version of my Self that spends 80% of my professional time creating content–writing, podcasting, video, speaking, events, etc., and 20% doing work with clients one-on-one.
I used to want this ASAP.
But, then I realized even if that opportunity came knocking at my door today, I wouldn’t take it because it doesn’t align with my present Authentic Life. The 80/20 version of me would have to stop working with clients I adore and love, miss out on family events and activities, and lose the ability to create from a space of total freedom with no expectations.
A future version of my Self would be in a position to naturally have these changes–clients get older and my existing business declines, the boys are older and in college or out of the house, and financially I’d still be able to create without too much pressure for results, but just enough to make sure I’m doing a great job.
Now, I still hold this 80/20 version of my Authentic Life in my mind and am moving towards it because that is where I am being called, but I’m no longer attached to it. In the next 9-10 years, I have no idea what experiences will change the end destination, so I remain open to whatever is supposed to be, so long as it is authentic to me.
Everyone’s timeline to the next version of their Self is different, and it has to be different because there are lessons to be learned along the way and experiences to be had, and we don’t always do a good job learning or catching the experiences.
So don’t rush.
Enjoy the evolution.
Stay true to the present Authentic Self.
And trust that you will always be where you’re supposed to be when you're supposed to be there, as long as you are staying aligned with your Authentic Self.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
JC
