internal world influences external

“Transform your world by transforming your internal state. Start by learning to let go of negative self judgment, and replace it with positive and loving thoughts about yourself. Be kind to yourself, and watch your external world change.”

— Anita Moorjani

Over the last few days, through a combination of podcasts, YouTube videos, and reading, I have been reminded that our internal state creates our external state – meaning that your thoughts, emotions, and energy greatly influence how you perceive the world and experience it.

If you aren’t happy with what you are experiencing, how can you change your internal state to begin to change what is happening externally?

For me, it’s having the awareness that my internal state is in a state of unrest. Once I notice it, I tell my Self, out loud, that I’m not going to stay in that state and that I need to focus on something positive.

It sounds simple, and usually it is, but even if it takes a few minutes to find the positive to focus on, it’s incredibly effective.

If you struggle with allowing your internal state to corrupt your external, instead of focusing on “how” to fix that, first focus on developing the awareness of when it gets messy within. Awareness is what I think is key to reclaiming control of your internal state – once you are aware, you can do what works best for you to shift the energy.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
