What would your life feel like if every institution you dealt with was trustworthy and humane in everything it did?
George Kinder, the father of Life Planning and founder of the Kinder Institute, joins me to talk about his book A Golden Civilization and the Map of Mindfulness. His Life Planning work, and EVOKE in particular, changed my life, so this conversation meant a lot to me.
The idea started during the 2008 financial crisis. George watched people around the world lose their savings and their homes. He took it personally and decided his work wasn’t done. He went on a world tour and asked people what a golden civilization would look like. Rich countries and poor ones, democracies and dictatorships, all gave him the same answer: an end to corruption, kindness, community, adequate food, shelter and health care, and institutions they could trust.
We get into:
- Why the change has to happen inside each of us and in the systems around us
