Life Lessons From Ryan Russell

My friend Ryan Russell passed away after battling a glioblastoma a year and a half ago. Today his wife Samantha, who is how I met and got to know him, shared ten life lessons he shared in an email to his kids shortly before he died and were included on the back of the prayer card at his funeral.

These are definitely Omens we should all remember.

  1. Work each day to be the very best version of yourself.

  2. Find things you are deeply passionate about.

  3. Have goals and make plans for the future—always think about how you can be better.

  4. Work hard in all you do and never settle for less than you are capable of.

  5. Reframe obstacles and embrace them as opportunities.

  6. Perspective is everything. It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it.

  7. Approach life with passion and joy and laughter.

  8. Prioritize your life and commit to doing the things that make you truly happy.

  9. Don’t be quick to anger and don’t hold onto any ill feelings.

  10. Help others, however you can. The quality of a person is almost always viewed through how they touched the lives of others.

You can hear more from Ryan when he joined me on my podcast.

Keep pursuing,

JC
