the call for community

I almost chose the famous ancient proverb “If you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together.” for today’s quote, but I really liked Maya Angelou’s mention of a safe place to go and not be questioned—I’ll take the liberty to add and be supported to the definition of home.
The people you surround your Self with have an impact on your life, and depending on whether these individuals are aligned with your Authentic Life, they either help you or hold you back.
Pursuing your Authentic Life can be a lonely endeavor.
But it doesn’t have to be…at least not for much longer.
I’ve teased this announcement on LinkedIn and Instagram, but I’m excited to officially announce that my wife, Ang, and I are launching a private community this fall called the AlignedLife Community.
Community has always been on my long-term roadmap; I just didn’t know when the appropriate time would be to create a space for people to come together to pursue their Authentic Lives, along with other “authenticists”. I’ve helped create a successful community for growth-minded financial advisors, The AGC™, and I knew I couldn’t launch a community alone.
Earlier this year, my wife Ang made the decision to end a twelve-year chapter of her life, running a boy’s boutique called Roman and Leo. Whether she knew it at the time or not, her decision to close her business because the boys had all outgrown the store and she no longer needed to style them, and because her passion for the business declined, embodied the art of living her Authentic Life. Most people would have continued with the store because it was successful, but she made a difficult decision by following what her heart was telling her.
I’ve always wanted to work alongside Ang, and now that she has time and space, I asked her whether she was interested in helping me launch a community for the Authentic Life ecosystem. She immediately went into research mode, sending me different podcasts and even a course on community building. I knew she was in because becoming an expert in whatever she is committing to is where she finds her confidence.
And with that, the idea of the AlignedLife Community was born.
We’ve been quietly working to get the community framework designed, the experience planned, and to get clear about who the community will be for. We’re getting ready to build out the Circle platform, so we’ll be able to open the community to a small group of Founding Members in October. After a quarter with the Founding Members, we’ll reopen the doors in January.
I’ll have more to share about the Community throughout the summer—I won’t violate the sanctity of the Daily Notes and turn them into constant advertisements. But for now, here are a few important details I want to share:
What is AlignedLife: A private online community capped at 150 members. We plan to find opportunities to bring the online community together in person, but that will be down the road a little.
Why would I join?: You want to pursue your Authentic Life alongside others pursuing theirs. You are seeking a safe place to be seen and supported. You realize trying to navigate your Authentic Life alone is tough and through others you will be able to have your shadows revealed, learn from others’ experiences, and help others in their Pursuit.
What can I expect: In short, you can expect monthly hot seats and group coaching sessions, quarterly focuses on spirit, mind, body, and money, collaborative initiatives, a few guest speakers each year, and most importantly, a tremendous group of people. I want to stress that the reason you join a community like AlignedLife is because of the PEOPLE—-everything else is bonus. You can read more about what to expect on the website here.
What’s the investment?: I’m not using “investment” as a marketing trick. This is truly an investment in your Authentic Life. It’s an investment in moving closer to living the life you want—the one you feel called to live. Founding Members, capped at 25, will make a lifetime investment of $1,500 per year. When we reopen in January 2027, the investment will be $2,000.
