letting go to accept what is meant for us
“We must let go of the life that we have planned, to accept the one that is waiting for us.”
-Joseph Campbell
Sometimes we try to control too much. Twice today, in different conversations, I shared that it’s important to know, directionally, where we are being called or want to go, but that I don’t think we should be too attached to where we think we are supposed to end up.
The truth is, I’m not sure we can know exactly where we are supposed to end up, because experiences, people, and information that come into our lives along the way will most likely change what we think we’re supposed to be doing.
If we are too attached to where we think we’re supposed to end up, we risk missing out on synchronicities, signs, and other important guidance that would help us arrive where we were actually meant to be.
Later in the day, I saw this quote from Joseph Campbell in a post celebrating a friend of mine’s end of a chapter and the start of a new one in his life.
It made me smile.
See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
