lazy Sundays

This morning my alarm went off, and I turned it off.

And I stayed in bed and went back to sleep; multiple times, I woke up and thought about what I “should” be doing.

I could have been writing. I could have been working out. I could have been meditating.

Podcast clips from the hustle crowd made me feel like I was wasting precious time.

But it was the last Sunday of summer break. Everyone else was sleeping. It was cloudy and possibly raining. Staying in bed a little longer wasn’t going to hurt anything or anyone.

When I finally got out of bed, I thought about the stories I was allowing to interrupt my morning rest.

There will come a time, soon enough, when the busyness of life will take away the opportunity to stay in bed a little longer.

There’s a time to hustle. There’s a time to grind. There’s a time to get up early.

But sometimes, you should just stay in bed a little longer and steal a little more rest.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
