defining wealth

“ An abundance of valuable material possessions or resources, or money.”

- Merriam-Webster Dictionary

How do you define wealth?

I have a slightly different definition that’s less about material possessions and money. It’s not that those can’t be a part of being wealthy, as I include abundant resources in my definition, but I also include health, family, community, meaningful work, and purpose.

For me, wealth is more inclusive of the “important” things in life. You can be rich, which I define as having more money and resources, but not wealthy. There is an abundance of miserable millionaires. At the same time, you can be wealthy and not rich. There are many happy, purposeful, and wealthy individuals who do not have much money.

Have you ever thought about what it means to you to be wealthy?

I’m not saying you have to adopt my definition, but I encourage you to look beyond your bank account and investments to measure your wealth.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
