stop refusing to accept what has happened

“We all have the same reaction at those moments: ‘This shouldn’t be happening to me.’

As natural as this reaction seems, it’s actually insane: you’re refusing to accept an event that’s already happened. Nothing is a bigger waste of time. The more you complain, the more stuck you become. There’s a common term for someone who lets himself wallow in pain like this: a victim.

The victim thinks he knows how the universe should work. When it doesn’t treat him the way he ‘deserves,’ he concludes the world is against him. This becomes his rationale for giving up and retreating to his Comfort Zone where he can stop trying.”

-Phil Stutz and Barry Michels, The Tools

I want to highlight, “ you’re refusing to accept an event that’s already happened. Nothing is a bigger waste of time.”

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,
