money isn’t the root of all evil
“Money is a good thing. You need money. Especially to, you know, if you’ve got friends and family to be able to help people, there’s nothing wrong with money.
I think people put a stigma on money.
For the Bible says that it is the love of money that is the root of all kinds of evil, not the money itself–it’s how much you love it.
What are you willing to do for it? What won’t you do for it…do you lose all your principles and your morals?
So, I don’t think we can demonize money.”

We’ve been taught to be careful of pursuing financial gain.
It’s greedy.
It’s selfish,
It’s immoral.
It’s a sin.
I think Malice makes a critical distinction in this quote from a recent interview; it’s not the money itself that's “bad.” It’s the importance we place on it, it’s what we’re willing to compromise to get it, and it’s measuring our value in it that leads us astray from our authentic Self.
The truth is we live in a material world.
We need money to provide for our family.
We need money to help others.
We need money to navigate this physical world.
There’s no escaping it.
And if you have more money, you can help more people. Yes, I know there are ways to help and give back that don’t require actual dollars, but those often require time, which is just another currency connected to money.
This aligns with my belief that more money can bring more happiness, but only if it is aligned with your authentic life.
It’s time to start breaking down the stigma surrounding money so we can view it as an empowering tool, rather than a limiting scarcity.
