when you think you know
After last month’s Keep Pursuing Series talk, I decided that for the summer, I would do the talks from my podcast studio, record them, and then publish them on YouTube and the AlignedLife Podcast, and in the fall, I’d bring them back in person.
There were a couple of reasons I made this decision:
First, I noticed that leading up to the last few talks, I was not as excited as usual. Once the evening came and people started showing up, the excitement returned, I gave a great talk, and had a lot of fun. But, the change in my excitement leading up to the talks did not go unnoticed, and I thought maybe it meant I needed to take a break.
Second, I assumed that attendance may drop with the summer months upon us.
I didn’t make a big announcement, beyond sharing the shift to recorded talks with clients in my weekly email, because I didn’t want to make a big deal about it. I wasn’t going to announce the new talks until I posted them to YouTube and podcast players. I was just going to make the change quietly.
The Universe had a different plan for me.
About a week ago, I got an order for four tickets from someone I have never met before for the next two talks. I have no idea what brought them to the Eventbrite page or how they found out about the talks, but now I had new attendees, right when I had decided to pause things in person.
I contemplated emailing them to let them know about the shift in delivery, but I didn’t send anything right away.
Last week, a friend texted to find out about this month’s talk. After I shared my plan for recording the discussions, she shared that her mom had some friends who wanted to come and meet me. As soon as I read the text with that information, I knew the show had to go on, as it has all year round. The Keep Pursuing Series will continue in person.
I heard the Universe loud and clear.
So I created a new image to share with the information for the talk and posted it to social media to start spreading the word.
I’m unsure what the Universe has in store for the upcoming talks, but it wants me to give them in person. Otherwise, the four tickets would not have been claimed, and my friend’s mom wouldn’t have had people she wanted to bring to the talks.
I don’t question the Universe, I just follow its lead.
