your calendar’s truth

Who does your calendar show you are?

Does how you spend your time align with your Authentic Life?

An exercise I’m currently working on is revisiting my ideal day and my realistic ideal day–there’s a subtle difference between the two. My ideal day consists of how I’d structure my day if there were no “buts.” For example, yoga every day at 7:00, BUT that’s in the middle of the morning routine with the boys. I think it’s important to know what my ideal day would look like, even if it’s not possible right now–my goal is to get as close to it as possible.

I encourage you to do the same.

Start with filling in the “you” in your calendar first–meditation, exercise, creative time, reading, or whatever you need to maintain alignment with your Authentic Life. Even if you have constraints in your calendar because of a rigid work schedule or children, you can still ensure you have your activities on your calendar in the time that you do have control over; this may also provide the inspiration to put your Self in a position where you can increase the hours you have control over on your calendar.

The reality is that we all have more control over how we spend our time than we believe we do, no matter where we start. Prioritize alignment on your calendar and build your professional and social life are it, as much as possible.

Just as your bank account acts as a mirror to who you really are, so does your calendar.

See you tomorrow and keep pursuing,

JC
