Trust in your feeling.

The internal guide that shows up in the form of a feeling exists to help you navigate through life. The more you trust it, the easier it becomes to keep trusting it.

If you’re not used to trusting your intuitive feeling, it can be hard to decipher between a guiding feeling and a feeling originating from other emotions. For example, fear can be mistaken to mean that you should not continue to go down the path you are traveling. Fear stops you in your tracks and sends you back to where you were coming from. Many times, though, fear is trying to act as your guide; follow the fear because on the other side of the fear is the outcome you desire–fear is often your guide when change is on the horizon.

What complicates this, especially when you are not used to trusting in your feelings, is that there are times when the feeling of fear is meant to stop you in your tracks.

How do you know when fear, or any other feeling, is meant to be a guide you follow or meant to stop you in your tracks?

Practice.

Part of the process of learning how to trust your feeling is being wrong. The only true way to understand what your feeling is telling you is through experience and seeing how events play out.

Multiple times in my career, I’ve mistaken the feeling of excitement as a sign to move forward. Deep down, I knew that I was misreading the excitement and convincing my Self the opportunity in front of me was the “right” decision. When I looked past the excitement, my heart told me it wasn’t the right decision, but I let my mind and emotions drown out that feeling.

For me, I know when to trust my feeling because it originates in my heart–this took years of reading and misreading my feeling and making decisions based on them. I still don’t get it right 100% of the time, but I am pretty confident in my ability to trust the feeling I receive when making decisions, and when I do get it “wrong,” I have a new experience to help me read future feeling.

When you understand that you already know all the answers you need to live your Authentic Life, it becomes easier to see that your spirit is communicating with you through your body, in the form of feeling.
